So Still

from Creeping Ash by Paul Henry Smith

lyrics

So still

curtains lie open dust floats in the sunlight
upon the desk are cd's and an empty case
clothes lie scattered upon the couch and the floor
papers tell the news from the day before

its so still

water drips from a tap onto the dirty dishes
photographs stuck to the fridge shoe happy faces
an 'I love new york' sticker is on its door
bread bin lies open beside it is a jam jar

it so still
when are you coming home
come home, your friends and your family miss you

a guitar stands in the corner unplayed
mail lies at the door it never ever stops
a calender hung on the wall with the dates filled in
a note on the table' just popped out kiss kiss'

it so still
when are you coming home
come home your friends and your family need you
they need you
need you.

I'm from Falkirk, I built a small studio with much loved hand me downs and second hand gear.

When I record I get lost in an emotion, it spills onto the disc, sometimes it messy, sometimes its a rather wonderful painting I can keep forever.
